A Twist in the Tale haha

My previous post about the last day of SAM was so so emo, and it was such a sad day, and I thought NOTHING, not even Baskin Robbins Key Lime Time (i know the real name now haha) ice cream would cheer me up. I thought it would end there.

Then the craziest thing in the world happened!

After Jun Kiat, Charlene and I left the library, we were walking along the corridor trying to think of some "special place" to eat at.

Then all of a sudden, Charlene the Genius said, "Eh, Miss Ng's still in school right? Let's ask her to join us for dinner!"

Miss Ng is our cactus-y ESL lecturer.

And JK and I though, well, WHY NOT? Coz we honestly thought she would say No. We even predicted her response!

Me: She'll probably say "I don't work when I eat."
JK: Yeah, or she'll start scolding us
Me: She'll say "What are you still doing here? GO HOMEEE!", haha... she always says that to me and Michelle!

So we trotted along to the Orange Room, and lo and behold, Miss Ng was right at the door photostating stuff!

That's when I pulled back. Because, I mean she's Miss Ng and she sometimes has that effect on me.

Jun Kiat however, being the *cough cough* supremely macho man that he is (more like super blur case who is so blur he's not afraid of anything), barged right in.

JK
: Miss Ng! Do you want to join us for dinner?? * beaming, hopeful smile*

Miss Ng's face was... well, you can imagine lah.

We braced ourselves for a "Go HOMEEEEEE".

Then she smiled.

I swear I was so shocked, i almost dropped my (very heavy) pile of books.

Miss Ng: *teeth gleaming* where are your eating?

And all of us started "uh"-ing and "um"-ing coz we hadn't decided yet.

Miss Ng: *teeth STILL gleaming* WHEN you decide, then I'LL decided whether or not to go =)

Gasp. She smiled!

So that was when i started imagining actually HAVING dinner with her and freaked out.

And when she came back to the door, she had her bag with her so she was definitely coming. I was screaming "Aaaaaahhhhh" at Charlene silently the whole time.

And walking down the stairs, it was like this:

Jun Kiat: Sooo Miss Ng, what do you want to eat?

Miss Ng: Anything. Where are your planning to go?

Me
: Um it depends on YOU =) hehehehe *nervous laughter*

Jun Kiat: We were planning to go somewhere SPECIAL.

Miss Ng: Why?

Me: Coz... it's a SPECIAL DAY =)

Miss Ng: *giving me the look* EVERY day is special. Do you know any days that are exactly the same?

Me: Err... no.

Miss Ng: Exactly!

Me: But... today is EXTRA special! =)

Charlene: What's your favourite fruit Miss Ng?

She heard "food" instead.

Miss Ng: *long pause* Fish.

All of us
: Fish??!

Miss Ng: Yes. Fish. It's brain food.

Me: Umm... okay! Where do they sell fish around here?

Charlene: Um... AC?

We ended up at AC. And the walk there was surprisingly not awkward! In fact the whole dinner was one of the most fun dinners i've had in a while!

Miss Ng
: So why are you people still here?

Jun Kiat
: We were at the library. I was studying.

Miss Ng: Yeah, RIGHT.

I'm serious she said that! And gave him "the Look"!

Miss Ng
: So, shall we turn left or right?

Charlene: Err, left. Let's go to AC!

Walk walk walk.

Charlene: Soooo... Miss Ng. If you like seafood, you should come to Langkawi!

Miss Ng: I don't like seafood. Only fish. And crabs.

Me: Crabs! Yay!

Miss Ng: And prawns.

Charlene: Prawns, yes! They're so nice right! Come to Langkawi!

Jun Kiat: *nothing important, so i can't remember*

We kept asking her questions about herself until we reached AC.

Miss Ng: So, what are your going to eat?

Jun Kiat: *looking around like a small kid in a candy store* So many stalls are open!

Charlene: Yess... *giving him a "don't be stupid" look* It's like that at night.

Jun Kiat: Cheese baked rice! Is it nice??

Charlene: Miss Ng do you like cheese?

Miss Ng: I don't eat cheese anymore. But I tell you, LAST time, I ate cheese ALL the time!

Charlene: *looking horrified* Why don't you eat cheese anymore??!!

Miss Ng: AFTER you eat your cheese baked rice THEN i'll tell you *her gleaming teeth flashed again*

Jun Kiat didn't order the rice.

So Miss Ng went off to order, and JK too.

Me: *going off to order for Charlene and I*

Charlene: *looking around fearfully* Hurry back! Don't leave me alone with her!

Hahahaha.

Miss Ng asked the most random questions! For example, when JK's food came (he ordered Japanese i think. or Korean):

Miss Ng: Where do they get the containers from?

JK: Huh? Oh. Errr...

Miss Ng: My colleagues actually said we should steal the box. By hiding it in a bag or something.

Me: Well um -

Miss Ng: Because it's so convenient! With all the proper compartments and everything. And you can stack it up.

Charlene: *nodding vigorously*

It was weird.

Then when our food came (Tom Yam Fried Maggi Mee) and i started my food-transferring, she pounced on me.

Miss Ng: Why don't you eat prawns? Are you allergic?

Me: Errr no. I just... don't like the taste? And... the texture? It's too... chewy.

Right at that moment Miss Ng's food came. One huge plate. Full of prawns. I swear there were more than 20.

Oh and one plate of ikan bakar, because fish is brain food. Haha.

Total? RM 38.

Then she went off to get chopsticks.

Jun Kiat: RM 38?! For dinner only?

Charlene: Aiyo, she's a working woman. And she's single mar.

Jun Kiat: Oh ya heh. But still!

Miss Ng came back, just when Charlene was complaining about how to peel her Tom Yam prawns.

Miss Ng: The only proper way to eat prawns is using your hands!

Charlene: But... i don't know how.

Me: Why, your dad always peels for you eh? Haha

Charlene: No!

Miss Ng: Take some fish!

Of course we didn't dare. The fish remained untouched, while she tucked into the prawns with great gusto.

Notice that she didn't offer us the prawns. Or maybe she did and i forgot.

Eventually we DID help her with the fish. And the last piece went to Michelle =)

She completely polished off the dish of prawns though. There was like a whole pile of prawn carcasses (wrong expression, but you understand right) left.

Miss Ng: When I eat, I don't waste food.

Charlene: Yes!

Jun Kiat also asked about her friends.

JK: So miss ng, is Miss Kwa your best friend?

Miss Ng: Miss Kwa? Best friend? No.

Charlene: No? But I thought -

JK: *interupting as usual haha* Well how is it in the workplace? I mean is there like... politics?

Miss Ng: Nope, all of us get on well.

Charlene: What about Mr John?

Miss Ng: Oh he's my makan buddy! We eat together 3 times a week.

Other random things we found out about Miss Ng:

- she likes steamed fish

- she climbed up Mount Kinabalu. and found it HOT up there

- she likes DARK chocolate, not milk and definitely NOT white
Miss Ng: Chocolate is supposed to be brown, why on earth should you make it white?!
Charlene: Yes!!! *she said that many many times that night*

- she thinks the best way to eat crab is just to steam it

- she doesn't carry tissue with her
I would know, i became the tissue provider =)

- she has a hot sister in law. who has two kids, but is still able to "drive guys crazy" and who goes kick-boxing 3 times a week

- she is a seasoned world traveller!

Miss Ng: So where are your going during the holidays? My J9 class is going XXX (i can't remember). And they asked me to go along

Me: We're going to Melaka! =)

Charlene: Where are YOU going Miss Ng?

Miss Ng: Nowhere.

Me: Because you went already that time right?

Miss Ng: Ya. And last year I went to Nepal. And India.

Charlene: *starry eyed* I've ALWAYS wanted to go to India!

- she likes dogs
Michelle: So miss ng, what animals do you like??

Miss Ng: Animal? Dogs.

Michelle: I like dogs too!

Charlene: Me also!

Michelle: What about cats?

Miss Ng: *pause* I'm OKAY with cats, but i don't LIKE them.

Michelle: I LOVE <3 cats! Well, i love ALL animals lah. *starts jabbering non-stop about animals* - she is honest Jun Kiat: So Miss Ng, what do you think about our class?

Miss Ng: All of you are... scared.

Me & Charlene: Scared??

Miss Ng: Yes, scared. Scared to be wrong. Not like my J class, they're not scared. They're very spontaneous. You people? You're SCARED.

Okay =)

- she used to be able to eat a lot of cheese and/or chocolate within 10 minutes
Charlene: Miss Ng, do you like chocolate?

Miss Ng: Yes.

Charlene: What kind?

Miss Ng: DARK chocolate

Charlene: Yes!!!

Miss Ng: The milk kind is too sweet

Charlene: *glares at me triumphantly* I know!

Miss Ng: White chocolate is WORSE!

Charlene: *swoons over Miss Ng*

Jun Kiat: *thinks hard* But... I like white chocolate!

Miss Ng: My brother's nurse goes to Langkawi sometimes, and she buys back so much chocolate. You know the 400g, Family Pack kind? I can finish that in 10 minutes.

Me: *awestruck* Really?

Miss Ng: Of course. And cheese, I used to eat a LOT of cheese. Like, THIS size. Even a 250g block of cheese, I can eat it in 10 minutes.

All of us: Wow! *new respect shining in our eyes*

- she has stopped eating cheese, because she heard it "feeds cancer cells". She told us all about it =)

- she is a teochew, and cannot speak any Mandarin besides "bu hui jiang" and "bu hui ting" (can't talk, can't speak) haha

- she does not like clubbing
Miss Ng: My J class asked me to go out clubbing with them

All of us: Clubbing?!

Images of Miss Ng clubbing danced across my head and traumatized me for life.

Me: I don't like clubbing. It's not my thing.

Miss Ng: It's not my thing either.

and SO MUCH MORE. We left at like 6.30 pm and ended up staying at AC till nearly 8.30! Michelle joined us halfway through and added to the fun.

Honestly i feel so much closer to Miss Ng now! I KNEW she was a softie underneath everything!

It was the PERFECT way to end the last day of SAM. I felt so HAPPY after dinner. My emo-ness = completely lifted! When we finally left AC, the 3 of us walked JK back to college (because he needs protection haha) and then we (eventually) went to Subang. There, we got "baju" for Charlene's iPhone and then got the Baskin Robbins ice cream!

=D

=D

=)

Sigh. It was such a great ending.

Oh and today Jia Jia, Michelle and I had breakfast at McD. Then we went to the library and finally had lunch at AC.

Charlene, btw, has such extreme OCD-ness that she actually took out all of my RM1 notes and ARRANGED them from new to old.

AND she was kiasu enough to compete to see who had the most RM 1 notes (me, I won! I had 18, she had 16! haha)

Oh and Michelle got "cheated" by the economy rice uncle, who charged her RM 5 for green beans and 2 pieces of tofu. Apparently the tofu cost RM 1.50 each. She was so so so angry!

Michelle: I feel so cheated! RM 1.50 for a tiny piece of tofu with some meat on top. You know outside you can buy a whole tofu for 30 sen? And this piece is half, so it's like 15 sen. And he charged RM 1.50! *stab stab*

Me: Um... Michelle? You're attacking the tofu.

Michelle: I know! *stab*

Note to self: the SAM Finals begin in 8 days.
