Why do we focus so much on looks anyway?
Take for example, the Teoh Beng Hock case.
I'm not going to go into the politics part of it because it takes up WAY too much of my time,
but i WILL say this about the recent advances in the case:
The famous Thai pathologist that was called in?

Hehehe.
I'm sorry. I have nothing against her appearance.
It's just, the first thing I thought of (and i'm not proud of it) was, which mental hospital did SHE escape from?
and
Is she being arrested for... her bad hairdo?
Then as I read the article, I realized who she was. And her contribution to the TBH case.

I actually asked Michelle (who is next to me right now) what did she think when she first saw the picture.
Michelle: Uh.... she's a... Britney Spears popstar wannabe?
She is much much too kind, haha.
Still, the point i'm trying to make is, all too often, we judge people by their appearances.
And in this case, I jumped to the conclusion that because this woman had wild hair and a very interesting sense of fashion, she wasn't someone to be taken seriously.
And then she turns out to be this famous, well respected Thai pathologist. Not only that, she is an incredibly brave woman!
How do I know this? Well the 2 Malaysian pathologists that were called in on this case said that Teoh Beng Hock "probably fell" and that he "probably wasn't murdered".
I'm willing to bet that A LOT OF PRESSURE was exerted on them.
This Thai woman? I'm sure a lot of pressure was exerted on her too. Maybe not as much since she's not Malaysian and she's pretty influential, but STILL. Did she crack under the pressure and repeat their broken record?
No, she reported the truth, and the truth is that there has been a BIG BIG cover up, and Teoh Beng Hock was indeed murdered. And now thanks to her, the real story has come to light and has to be taken seriously.
I salute her, and heartily apologize for being such a prejudiced, close-minded person.
Hey Yoong! I find it cool how you dont update often, but when you do, there's always a lot to read. I LIKE IT. Haha. This is so funny!! I opened the papers just now and i saw the Teoh Beng Hock case thing. My first reaction was "FINALLY AN UPDATE!" But i couldn't seem to place the picture and the article together!! I have to say i did NOT expect the professional Thai pathologist who was dealing with dead bodies and such to look so interesting AT ALL. Can't wait to catch up with you again! Xx
